Tyra Hughley Smith is a licensed attorney who has been practicing for over seven
years. Her areas
of practice include intellectual property (copyright and
trademarks), entertainment, and business law and contracts. She is a member of the
colloquially known as the "Photo Attorney" law firm, where she represents
photographers, photo agencies, and other creatives in protecting their copyright
rights and obtaining compensation for their work. Tyra has also written a legal
guide entitled Insights from the Inside: A Legal Guide for Small Businesses and Content
Creators.

Tyra attended the University of Southern California, where she received a dual
degree in Law (Juris Doctor) and a Master’s in Communication Management (M.C.M)
from USC’s Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism. She was also an
Adjunct Professor at Annenberg, teaching First Amendment and communications
law.

In addition to her legal practice, Tyra is the creator of BarrisTourista.com,
a
premier travel and foodie blog that offers travel insights, foodie recommendations,
and tips on how to save money on one’s travels. She is a former print journalist, and
has also created a line of travel accessories (passport holders, luggage tags, and tote
bags), along with digital resources for trip planning and budgeting.
